Arena Sports bar is located across from the Riverview Park in downtown Independence. Originally constructed in 1884 as a hardware store., this building became a tavern the day after Prohibition ended. Over 300 people lined up around the block to come in and have nickel beers that day! In 2009, it was remolded to became Arena Sports Bar. Locally owned and operated, Arena has been a staple in the downtown area for many decades.
